Organic Cotton is a higher quality cotton that is free from chemical pesticides or growth stimulants. According to the Global Organic Textile standard, “Organic production is based on a system of farming that maintains and replenishes soil fertility without the use of toxic, persistent pesticides and fertilizers. In addition, organic production relies on adequate animal husbandry and excludes genetic modification.”
We can proudly say that all organic clothes by Sooti are certified.
About Organic Cotton claim that organic cotton has six main benefits and we couldn’t agree more:
- Reduces environmental footprint
- Model for the future
- Fair price for sustainability
- Promotes safe work & better livelihoods
- Impacts our food system
- Make a difference
Organic Cotton clothes are good for the environment and good for your health and with a little extra care, they can last a longer time. Here are a few tips that you can follow while handling organic cotton clothes.
- Remember to always read the tag-
Every Sooti clothing for active living has a label attached. Remember to read it before putting it for wash or dry cleaning as it will give you specific details that are unique to the garment you have bought.
- Wash Light
Dyes that are used for organic cotton wear are greatly different from what you find in mass produced cotton clothes. This is why you should avoid using rough detergents as it might lead to degeneration of the cloth and colour. None of our organic cotton clothing for women have reported bleeding, however as a precaution you could use a method suggested by Organic lifestyle – ‘For the first wash, add ¼ cup of vinegar to the final rinse, this will help to set the colour and resist fading or bleeding.’
- Avoid too much heat
You can tumble dry, however excessive heat could cause major damage to the colouring of the clothing. We suggest you line dry your Sooti yoga clothes or gym wear in shade to retain its longevity and preserve its softness.
Follow these simple tips and we assure that your organic clothes will last way longer than the others.
